Mission
At Lourdes Hill College, our mission is to form young people who embody the compassion of Christ and
the wisdom of the Good Samaritan Benedictine tradition. Catholic education in this tradition is devoted
to nurturing students who engage with today’s world as grounded, hope-filled young people - those
equipped to lead with wisdom, listen with depth and respond to others and the environment with justice,
love and Christ-like compassion.
Our Good Samaritan ethos encourages students to become active, generous and responsible global
citizens. At Lourdes Hill College, we inspire young women to put their faith into action through service,
outreach and social justice initiatives. We help students recognise the many opportunities they have to
serve their community and environment, encouraging them to respond with empathy, courage and a
genuine desire to make a difference.
Service and Social Justice
Students engage in a variety of meaningful programs, including donation drives, environmental
initiatives, the College Outreach Program, and year-level social justice groups. These activities help
students develop empathy, courage and leadership while contributing positively to their community.
Immersion Programs
For Senior Students, immersive experiences provide hands-on learning and global perspective, including
Red Earth – Cape York (Year 11), Timor Leste (Years 10–11), Mt Isa (Year 11), Mater Dei (Year 11), Philippines
(Year 11). These programs deepen students’ understanding of the world, strengthen their sense of social
responsibility, and inspire them to make a meaningful impact.
Living Our Faith
Faith is explored through the Religious Education curriculum and the prayer and liturgical life of the
College. Equally important, it is lived daily - through relationships, acts of service, and commitment to
justice and peace. These practices shape young women who bring hope to the world and act with the
heart of the Good Samaritan.
