Leadership Opportunities
At Lourdes Hill College, leadership is not simply a title — it is a journey of growth, service, and self-discovery.
From their first days at the College, students are encouraged to see themselves as capable leaders who can
influence their community with integrity, courage, and compassion. Leadership is intentionally developed
through a wide range of experiences that evolve as students move through Junior, Middle and Senior School.
In Junior School, students begin laying the foundations for leadership. They take on classroom responsibilities,
participate in shared decision‑making, and contribute to service activities that nurture teamwork, confidence,
and accountability. Year 6 Junior School leadership roles include House Representatives, Junior School Sports
Captains, Cultural Captains, Service and Spirituality Captains and a Mirragin Captain.
In Middle School, leadership becomes more active and collaborative. Students take part in House activities,
social justice initiatives, co‑curricular groups, and team‑based projects. These experiences help them grow in
initiative, teamwork, and problem‑solving while discovering their strengths and interests. Middle School
leaders often support events, mentor younger peers, and contribute to the positive culture of their House and
year level.
By Senior School, leadership becomes a visible expression of the College’s Good Samaritan tradition. Students
can apply for a wide range of formal leadership roles, including College Captains, House Captains, Mission and
Cultural leaders, and positions across sport, performing arts, and service programs. Senior leaders represent
the College in the wider community, guide school initiatives, and act as role models who embody compassion,
integrity, resilience, and stewardship. They work closely with staff and younger year levels, gaining experience
in communication, organisation, teamwork, and ethical decision‑making.
Across all stages of schooling, leadership at Lourdes Hill College is grounded in the belief that every young
woman has the capacity to influence her world for the better. Whether through formal positions or everyday
actions, students are supported to recognise their gifts, use their voices, and act with purpose. Leadership at
LHC empowers them not only to contribute confidently within the College community but to step into the
future as thoughtful, courageous, and compassionate leaders in society.
