Faith
The Lourdes Hill College community is committed to
enhancing the faith journey of all of its members and
strives to be an authentic Catholic community that is
welcoming of all. Our faith underpins all aspects of
College life. We ask all families to make a commitment to
support the values of the College. We particularly explore
our faith life through our underpinning ethos, the religious
education program, prayer and liturgical life of the College
and through our commitment to social justice.

Prayer and liturgical life
Lourdes Hill College has a rich tradition as a praying and
worshipping community. All students are required to
participate in the prayer life of the College. There are many
opportunities provided for staff and students to gather in
prayer. These include:
There are three key stories which underpin our ethos at
Lourdes Hill College:
•
Prayer in Home Group every morning
•
The Lourdes Prayer at the end of every day
1. The Parable of the Good Samaritan, with its clear
message of compassion and kindness.
•
Weekly Mass at 8am every Thursday morning in our
Chapel (parents are very welcome).
2. The Rule of St Benedict, an exploration of how to create
and sustain a community of peace.
3. The Story of Lourdes, with a focus on hope and healing.
Each of these stories contributes to our understanding of
how we are called to create and make real the Kingdom of
God on earth.
Religious Education

Texts, The Church and Christian Life. The approach involves
teaching about religion and does not presume knowledge
