Assessment Policies
Middle School Assessment Policy Flow Chart
Were you away for
your exam?
Were you away for your
assignment due date?
Do you need an extension for
your assignment?
Parents need to communicate via
email with the class teacher to
arrange an alternate time to sit
your exam. This communication
should happen on the day of your
absence if possible.
Submit your assignment
electronically (if possible) via
Student Café, Turnitin, TEAMS
or email to your teacher.
Collect the ‘Middle School Request for an
Extension’ Form from Student Reception
Or
Fill out your form and have it signed by
the appropriate people
Deliver your assignment to
student reception.
When you return to school, send
an email from yourself and/
or parent, with your medical
certificate (in cases of illness) to
your Head of Faculty explaining
your absence.
Contact your teacher to
arrange how and when to hand
in your assignment.
Be ready to sit your exam at the
arranged time.
When you return to school,
communicate via email to your
teacher from your parents
explaining your absence.

Or
Submit your form to the relevant Head of
Faculty PRIOR to the due date. You will also
be asked to submit the progress you have
made on your assignment up to this date.
The Head of Faculty will process your
application and will communicate the
outcome via email with both you and your
class teacher and parents.
If you are granted an extension, it is
important that you meet the new due date!
Senior School Assessment Policy Flow Chart
Were you away/Will you be
away for your exam?
Collect the ‘Senior School Request
for an Extension’ Form from Student
Reception
Year 10
Parents communicate via email with
the class teacher and the Head of
Faculty to arrange an alternate time
to sit the exam. This communication
should happen on the day of your
absence if possible. If you are unable
to send them this email, your parents
may do this on your behalf.
Were you away for your
assignment due date?
Year 10
Year 10 only
Submit your assignment electronically
(if possible) via Student Café,
“Turnitin”, “TEAMS” or email to your
teacher by 5pm on the due date.
Complete a ‘Senior School Request for
an Extension’ form downloaded from
Student Café or collect the hardcopy
form from Student Reception
Or
Deliver your assignment to student
reception.
Communicate via email with the Dean
of Curriculum or the Director of
Learning and Teaching to inform of
your inability to sit the exam.
Contact your teacher to arrange how
and when to hand in your assignment
on that day.
If unable to submit work on the due
date, when you return to school, bring
a Medical Certificate to your Head of
Faculty explaining your absence.
Years 11 and 12
Years 10 and 11
Submit your assignment electronically
on the due date in accordance
with the assessment’s submission
requirements (in accordance with
QCAA guidelines). Failure to submit by
the due date will mean student work
submitted during the “Checkpoints”
stage (see below) will be used to
award a standard of achievement.
Be ready to sit your exam at the
arranged time.
For extenuating circumstances, please
contact the Head of Faculty for advice.
All Students
When you return to school, submit a

Faculty explaining your absence.

For extenuating circumstances,
please contact the Head of Faculty
during the “Checkpoints” stage of the
assessment to discuss the specific
action to take in the event of such an
extenuating circumstance.
Year 12
The Director of Learning and Teaching
will inform you of sitting a “comparable”
exam if you qualify for this.
