Junior School Curriculum
Lourdes Hill College Learning Futures Framework
Junior School Classroom Learning Design
The Lourdes Hill College Learning Futures Framework
provides a touchstone for the development of consistent,
high quality teaching practices. We recognise that effective
teachers provide productive and engaging learning
environments which challenge and support students
to become successful learners, con昀椀dent and creative
individuals and active and informed citizens.
The framework for the Junior School includes collaborative,
social forms of learning and a student-centred learning
environment. Learners will develop positive relationships
with each other and access technology that facilitates
personalised learning. The Junior School Framework
recognises that students need to have frequent movement
breaks and be engaged in multi-sensory, hands-on learning
experiences to transfer learning to long-term memory. The
Junior School Framework is cyclical and interconnected
to re昀氀ect the nature of learning in a primary classroom. It
allows for the 昀氀ow of lessons throughout the day with the
core classroom teacher.
The LHC Learning Futures Framework supports the
Australian Curriculum General Capabilities which identify
essential skills for twenty-昀椀rst century learners.
It continues to draw on the Dimensions of Learning
Pedagogical Framework and supports the Australian
Curriculum General Capabilities. It provides an introduction
to learning at Lourdes Hill College and a smooth transition
into the Middle School.
