From the Principal
It is my great pleasure to welcome your family to the
Lourdes Hill College community.
Our vision is to be universally recognised for:
Empowering generations of young women to be a
transforming Benedictine presence in our world. Every day,
our Teachers, Co-curricular Staff, and Support Staff strive
to work in partnership with Parents and Caregivers to
make this vision a reality for our students.
Our approach to education draws on the insights and
practices of our Benedictine spirituality, the story of St
Bernadette and Our Lady of Lourdes and the parable of
the Good Samaritan, emphasising the values that support
holistic living. Students are encouraged to live out the
practical Benedictine values of genuine community,
compassion, effective listening, stability and patience.
Lourdes Hill was founded in 1916 by the Sisters of the Good
Samaritan. With more than 100 years of history, we are
proud to honour our past, proactively looking toward the
future and creating positive pathways and experiences for
our students.
Our innovative approach to teaching and learning will
ensure that your student is prepared for success beyond
the LHC gates. Both our Junior School (Years 5-6), Middle
School (Years 7-9) and Senior School (Years 10-12) are
designed with age and stage-appropriate learning
experiences and environments to ensure that each of our
students can thrive at every step of her school journey.
We believe strongly that learning goes beyond the
classroom. Throughout their time with us at the College,
students will be encouraged to develop their faith,
leadership, teamwork, and life skills through our extensive
Co-curricular program designed for real-world learners.
Thank you for choosing Lourdes Hill College for your
student’s education. We look forward to walking with you
and your child on their journey.
With kindness, peace and hope,
Mrs Kay Gleeson
