Travel to and from College
Exemplary behaviour by students is expected while
travelling to and from the College. Students must keep
to footpaths and cross roads at the lights. Students
travelling by train and bus are required to show
consideration for others and care for their own and others’
safety. Students must stand for adult passengers. Bags
should be unobtrusive. The Queensland Department of
Transport and Main Roads publishes and enforces a code
of conduct which outlines penalties for those who breach
the code.
Valuables / Personal Property
Valuables should be left at home, and never left in school
bags.
Unacceptable Items
Audio equipment, liquid paper, nikko pens, chewing
gum, blades, weapons, aerosols, 昀氀ammable substances,
cigarettes, e-cigaretts & liquid, illegal drugs and alcohol
are prohibited items and MUST NOT be brought to the
College.
Digital Learning Guidelines
Purpose
The purpose of these pages is to establish guidelines for
the productive, safe and ethical use of digital technologies
to enhance learning whilst maintaining a commitment
to our strategic pillars of Empower, Transform and
Benedictine Presence.
Acceptable Use
The College provides Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) for the support of teaching and learning.
This is the primary purpose of all ICT provided by the
College. All students are required to agree to the following
guidelines for the acceptable use of this technology.
1:1 Digital Device
The College provides each student with a personal digital
device to use both at school and at home. This device is
funded by a levy listed each year in the schedule of fees
for students in each year level. Ownership of the device
is retained by the College.
Students must undertake to:
• Exercise a level of care that re昀氀ects the signi昀椀cant cost
and importance of the device
• Always carry the device in its protective case (unexpected
weather events, water bottle leakage, protection if
dropped etc.)
• Ensure the device is fully charged to school each day
• Never have an important 昀椀le, such as an assignment,
stored in just one place
• Alert the ICT department should the device suffer any
damage, malfunction or security concerns
• Return the device to the ICT department periodically for
re-imaging or updating as requested.
• Always have their name label on the device – replacement
labels are freely available
• Installation of unrelated school 昀椀les on the device is not
permitted.
• Installation of unapproved software on the device is not
permitted.
• ownership of the device is retained by the College.
Support
Students may seek support with the use of their device
from the Laptop Centre.
